Need help with finances for returing student

money for college

Posted in hjheckman on Aug 14, 2005

I am starting my second year at college as a full-time "returning" student.  I am 56-years old and have never been employed in a truly gainful job.  I am majoring in Business with an emphasis on Accounting with the hope that I will gain my AS degree and open an accounting business throught the internet when I have reached my goal in another year and a half.

I am unfortunately not able to meet my most basic needs such at rental payments each month and still be able to attend college with only the financial aid of the Pell Grant and Direct Loan money I receive.  I need to supplement these grants and loans.  I am no longer married and have been turned down for approximately 6-7 loans for which I have applied in the recent past.  I desparately need help with my simple living expenses in order to complete my goal.

I have been applying for loans in the amount of $10,000 which I summize would get me financially through the next year and half and on my way to being self-sufficiant.  I really need a miracle!  Please help!

Thank you for listening.

Sincerely,

H. Jill Heckman
